Ceus Games is an independent game studio. This page explains what information our games send to us, why, and how you can turn it off. Questions or requests: [email protected].
Towers of Ruin and Towers of Ruin Demo
To find out which parts of the game are too easy, too hard or too slow, the game sends us an anonymous summary of each run when the run ends or is abandoned. A summary contains:
- the map, difficulty and game mode, and how long the run lasted;
- a minute-by-minute record of gold, lives, level, number of towers, enemies defeated and enemies that got through;
- the cards offered and picked, and the towers built, upgraded and evolved;
- frame rate and frame-time measurements;
- the game build number, whether it is the demo, the game language, your graphics card name, screen resolution and graphics quality setting;
- a random installation ID created by the game on your computer. It lets us tell runs from different installations apart. It is not linked to your Steam account.
We do not collect your name, your Steam account or Steam ID, your e-mail address, your files, or any other personal information. We do not store your IP address; it is only used for a moment to limit how many requests one address can send.
Turning it off
The first time you start the game, a notice explains this and offers a No thanks button. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Gameplay > Send anonymous data. When you turn it off, the game stops sending summaries and deletes any that were still waiting to be sent.
Where the data is kept, and for how long
Run summaries are stored in a database run by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., which processes them on our behalf. We use them only to develop and balance our games, we never sell them, and we never share them with advertisers. We keep them for at most 24 months.
To have the summaries from your installation deleted, e-mail us your installation ID. You can find it in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\JungleDefenders\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini on the line
that starts with InstallId=.
Steam
Achievements, cloud saves, the Steam Workshop and purchases are provided by Valve Corporation through Steam and are covered by Valve's privacy policy. We do not receive any personal information about you from those features.

Changes
If we change what our games collect, we will update this page and the date above before the change reaches players.
